ViPS CMMI L2 Implementation

Brief Description: SES assessed the client environment to determine current use of CMMI L2+ processes/procedures {Level 2+ includes all Level 2 Process Areas and 3 Level 3 Process Areas (Organizational Training, Verification and Technical Solution)}. Client environment allowed SES to use its proprietary a-CMMI (proven process/method to accelerate the implementation of CMMI compliant processes). Conducted Executive Management CMMI orientation and training (focused on positioning Senior Management on key requirements that they must satisfy to ensure project success). SES worked with the client to determine existing ISO 9000 processes that could be levered. Developed CMMI L2+ Project and Implementation Plan to develop, tailor, implement and train VIPS resources on CMMI Level 2+ compliant processes. Established SEPG and PM Forum to ensure key software engineering and project management professional were trained on key processes. Development of VIPS CMMI L2+ processes was completed utilizing SES' CMMI compliant verification matrix (mapping of processes to practices with key artifacts). Designed and implemented a State-of-Art web-based Process Asset Library (PAL).SES staff provided process training and proficiency examinations to Project Managers and IT development staff.Identified CMMI Lead Assessor to conduct independent CMMI L2+ Assessment (completed Dec 2004).The assessment was out sourced to an SEI certified assessor to preserve the independence of the evaluation. Conducted weekly Executive Steering Committee meeting to report on CMMI L2+ Implementation Project deliverables, milestones and overall project accomplishments. ViPS achieved CMMI L2 rating within a 9-month implementation period.
